Why Pure bred Wagyu?

IMG_8120.jpeg

The Standard

Walk into most supermarkets and you’ll find "Wagyu" — usually F1 crossbred Wagyu (Wagyu × Angus), scoring MB 4–6. It’s good meat. It is not what the Japanese mean when they talk about Wagyu.

The Difference

Pure bred Wagyu is 100% Wagyu genetics with verified pedigree. The marbling is finer, the meat is richer, and the difference between a pure bred Wagyu rump and a crossbred one is the kind of thing you notice on the first bite. We can show you the certification on request.

The Process

Wagyu cattle take longer to mature than commercial breeds, and they reward patience. Ours graze freely on native and improved pastures. We don’t finish them on a heavy grain feedlot ration; we let them grow at their own pace, on grass, with the genetics doing most of the work.

Where We Are

Forty minutes from Brisbane. A world away.

Lone Pine Farm sits in the Somerset Region of South East Queensland — a quiet pocket of country near Fernvale. The pastures are green most of the year, the water comes from the Somerset catchment, and the cattle have room to roam.

We run a small herd on purpose. Twenty head a year means we know each animal, we choose when each one is ready, and we work with a single local processor we trust. Nothing is rushed.

Why Sell Direct

The benefits of removing the middleman.

Direct Value

Selling pure bred Wagyu through wholesale or supermarkets means most of the value gets eaten up in margins before it reaches anyone’s plate. By selling direct — farm to family — we can offer restaurant-grade product at a price that reflects the work, not the markup chain.

Full Transparency

It also means our customers know us. You’re welcome to ask questions, see the certification, or call us about how to cook a particular cut. We’d rather have a hundred customers we know than ten thousand we don’t.

Quality Control

We maintain a single local processor that we trust. Every step happens within an hour’s drive of the farm, ensuring the highest standards of quality and care from the moment the cattle are ready.
